Dr. Aamer Farooq is board certified in medical oncology, hematology, and internal medicine and practices at our Clay office. He joins CSNF with a firm foundation of research on a wide variety of cancer studies and years of experience. Dr. Farooq has been involved in many research projects and presentations, authoring and co-authoring several manuscripts and research abstracts with a wide range of topics that include head and neck cancer, gastrointestinal cancer, lung cancer, and breast cancer. Receiving the “Tsuguo Naruke Award” for a research project in 2009, Dr. Farooq’s research contributions have been well received at national cancer conferences. It is that knowledge and dedication he brings to the practice to treat patients, improve survival rates, and to enhance their overall quality of life.

Dr. Farooq practiced in Arkansas before joining CSNF in 2018. In 2017, he was voted as one of the “Best Hematologist Oncologists in Arkansas” by AY Magazine. Dr. Farooq’s philosophy when it comes to helping patients is starting every day of his professional life as a battle to fight and conquer cancer to help his patients defeat this enemy as a team. “I like to give my patients the most up-to-date treatment options to help them fight cancer, and I always try my best to give my patients what I would want for me or my family,” he says. Cancer has touched his life during his medical school years when his cousin was very close to dying of breast cancer in her 20s. “Treating cancer patients as an oncologist has made me humble, and I appreciate life and its blessings more than I did before I became an oncologist,” he says.

Dr. Farooq always keeps himself up to date on the latest oncology data/clinical trials results on upcoming cancer therapies. “I think I owe it to my patients to best serve them in the ever-evolving field of oncology,” he says. Dr. Farooq believes there is a pride of ownership at CSNF that drives everyone the extra mile, which ultimately helps patient care.

When not in the office, Dr. Farooq devotes himself to his family, which includes his wife, son, and daughter.  They greatly enjoy outdoor activities.
