BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Maria Valente is board-certified in medical oncology and practices at our Southpoint location.

Originally from Michigan, Dr. Valente earned both her undergraduate degree and Doctor of Medicine from the University of Michigan. Upon graduation, she set her sights on warmer climates and moved to Gainesville for residency. She completed her fellowship in medical oncology at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, before joining CSNF in 2007.

“It’s an exciting time to practice oncology,” she says. “There are so many new treatments to offer patients. CSNF is committee to having access to them all.”

“Treating the whole patient is important to me,” Dr. Valente says, “which is why I love CSNF’s collaborative approach.”

“I work closely with my colleagues to ensure we are meeting every patient need,” she continues. “This builds a trust within the team that many other practices don’t have.”

Dr. Valente provides complete care for patients with cancer and blood disorders, including breast, colon, and lung cancers.

When not at work, Dr. Valente enjoys spending time with her three children, waterskiing and running.

If you are satisfied with your care, please consider leaving Dr. Valente a review!
