Ashley is an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner who works at our Southpoint location. She loves spending time with her patients and their families and especially loves being able to give support and reassurance as they navigate their diagnosis and treatment. Ashley’s philosophy when it comes to helping patients is that knowledge and understanding are the two most valuable assets in any situation.
“I strive to help my patients understand their diagnosis and medications so they can make informed decisions about their own care,” she says. Cancer has affected Ashley in a very personal way. She was diagnosed with breast cancer at 25 years old and says the experience shaped her into the nurse, and later, nurse practitioner that she is now. “I’ve lived through it,” she says. “I’ve been the scared patient waiting on test results. I’ve come out on the other side, and my calling is to walk alongside others as they travel the difficult roads of cancer, supporting them as best I can,” she adds.
Ashley grew up in the Beaches area and still lives there with her family. She graduated from Nease High School, completed her undergraduate from Jacksonville University, and earned her doctorate from the University of North Florida. She is a true Jacksonville native! Ceramics and pottery making are Ashley’s hidden talent. She has a pottery wheel and kiln in her garage that she uses to make things like mugs, cups, plates, bowls, and vases. All of her dishes at her house are homemade, and she has actually sold a few pieces too!
When not at work, Ashley loves spending time with her husband, son, and two daughters. They enjoy going to the beach, hiking, gardening, and are very active in their church. Her favorite thing in the world is spending time with her family and enjoying the beauty of creation outside their doors.
