Ashley Harris, DNP, FNP-BC, is an advanced practitioner at our Southpoint location. Ashley earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology and BSN from Jacksonville University before earning her Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of North Florida

At 25 years old, cancer affected Ashley personally when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. “I’ve lived through it,” she says. “I’ve been the scared patient, waiting on a phone call from my doctor with test results.”

She feels that the experience helped shape her into the nurse practitioner she is today:
“I’ve lived through it; come out the other side and found my calling because of it. Working alongside others as they travel the difficult roads of cancer, and supporting them to the best of my ability, has been the greatest blessing of my life.”

When it comes to helping patients, Ashley feels that knowledge and understanding are the two most valuable assets in any situation. “I love spending time with my patients and their families, especially as I work to give them the support and reassurance they need to navigate their diagnosis and treatment.”

When not in the office, Asley enjoys making pottery, and even has a kiln in her garage. A Jacksonville native, Ashley grew up on the beaches were she still lives with her husband and their son and two daughters. Together, they enjoy going to the beach, gardening, and being active in their church.
