HIRAL PAREKH, MD, MPH

BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Hiral Parekh is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Hematology, and Medical Oncology, and practices at our Northside location. Originally from India, Dr. Parekh received her medical degree from Govt Medical College in Surat, India. After receiving her Masters of Public Health from the East Tennessee State University, she completed a residency and two fellowships at the University of Oklahoma and Cleveland Clinic, respectively.

“The field of hematology and oncology is exciting and challenging, at the same time”, Dr. Parekh says. “The emotional turmoil that cancer diagnosis creates in someone’s life is impossible to describe… but the feeling of being able to help someone facing the biggest challenge of their life is very fulfilling”.  She strives to be available to her patients 24/7 “as a physician and as a friend”.

Believing in the importance of helping patients understand their diagnosis, she creates a road map for their treatment plan and strives to empower them with a wealth of information. “As their physicians, I want to provide them with full support for the obstacles that they face emotionally, socially, and physically”, she says. She felt that Cancer Specialists’ mission to holistic cancer treatment aligned perfectly with her goal to support her patients in all ways they need.

Dr. Parekh considers each of her patients like family: “I take honor in taking care of my patients and I consider that it is my responsibility to hold their hand, walk with them during their journey, and provide them with full support”.

When not at work, Dr. Parekh enjoys traveling, cooking, sketching and painting, and seeing the world through the eyes of her young daughters.
