Dr. Jessica Bahari-Kashani was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest in a small town in Oregon.  She completed her Bachelor of Science at the University of Washington in cell & molecular biology with magna cum laude honors at the age of 19.  She became fascinated with cancer genetics and spent two years at Oregon Health & Sciences University in the basic sciences researching colon cancer (HNPCC).

She discovered her passion for clinical patient care while volunteering, and before even starting medical school, felt a magnetic interest toward the field of radiation oncology.  She attended the University of Minnesota Medical School and was awarded a research grant studying molecular profiling.  After receiving her doctorate of medicine in 2007, she started her internship year in Chicago and completed her specialty specific residency in radiation oncology at University of California Irvine, an institution designated as a “National Comprehensive Cancer Center” by the National Cancer Institute.

Her special clinical interests include breast cancer, lung cancer, and gastrointestinal malignancies.  Dr. Bahari-Kashani practices at our Southpoint and Fleming Island locations and regularly attends national conferences. She is an active member of several professional organizations.  On a more personal note, she is married to a gastroenterologist and has a son and daughter.  After work, they enjoy traveling, spending time on the water, and chasing after their children.
