How should I prepare for my scan?
- Notify us of any metallic objects or implants in your body
- Wear warm, comfy clothes that are free of metal
- Leave jewelry and medications at home
- Continue medications as prescribed
- If on oxygen, bring own supply
What will happen during my scan?
- You will lie on a table that slides into the machine fully or part-way.
- During the scan, you will hear a loud, thumping noise. Earplugs will be provided.
- The MRI should take between 30-60 mins.
- You may receive a contrast dye via a vein on your arm or hand.
What happens after my scan?
The radiologist will read your scan and send your physician the results within 24 hours.
