Dr. Bhavana Chapman is board-certified in radiation oncology and practices at CSNF’s Fleming Island and Riverside locations.
Dr. Chapman received a Bachelor of Science in biochemistry and molecular biology from the University of Florida. After graduation, she moved to Pennsylvania for medical school, earning her Doctor of Medicine from the University of Pittsburgh.
She completed her preliminary medicine internship at Baylor College of Medicine and radiation oncology residency at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. There, she became highly skilled in treating cancer with numerous radiation therapy treatment types. Dr. Chapman provides complete care for patients with cancer, including breast, prostate, lung, and cervical cancers.
Originally from Tampa Bay, Dr. Chapman looked forward to returning to coastal Florida after finishing medical training.
After practicing in Central Florida for several years, Dr. Deegan contacted Dr. Chapman about a CSNF position. CSNF’s integrated medical and radiation oncology model drew her to CSNF.
“The collaboration between the two teams, and the support staff, helps us focus on each patient’s needs and tailor their treatment,” she says.
“Cancer is a serious health issue, and I aim to be my patients’ strongest advocate from the start,” she explains. “I want my patients to know that I value their opinions as much as I hope they value mine.”
When not in the office, Dr. Chapman enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, who like to stay busy. Together, they spend time trying new recipes and gardening.
