BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Tejas Karawadia is board certified in medical oncology and practices at our Clay office.

Originally from India, Dr. Karawadia graduated medical school from Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Medical College in Rajkot. After graduation, Dr. Karawadia moved to American and completed his residency at Jersey Shore University Medical Center. He completed his hematology and medical oncology fellowship at Stony Brook University Hospital in New York.

During his residency, Dr. Karawadia earned recognition as “Resident of the Year” and later became Chief Resident. During his tenure at Stony Brook, he also served as Chief Fellow.

Dr. Karawadia genuinely believes that compassion is at the heart of cancer care.

“Patients and their caregivers undergo a tremendous amount of emotional stress during diagnosis and treatment. As an oncologist, it is my duty to provide the best available treatments. I will do so with the most compassion possible.”

For Dr. Karawadia, there is no greater gift than connecting with each patient on a personal level.

“The patient comes first – it is as simple as that,” Dr. Karawadia says. “Everything else revolves around their needs and specific objectives. I do not compromise on this principal, and seek to treat every patient as if they are a member of my family.”

Dr. Karawadia provides complete care for patients with cancer and blood disorders, including lung, colorectal, prostate, and blood cancers.

Dr. Karawadia is highly sensitive to patients’ beliefs and goals, and crafts special treatment plans centered on their wishes. He uses the latest research that adheres to the highest possible standards.

When not in office, Dr. Karawadia enjoys playing tennis, cricket and spending time with his wonderful family.
