Dr. Yousif Abubakr is board certified in medical oncology and practices at Cancer Specialists of North Florida’s Southside location.
Born in Khartoum, Sudan, “Dr. A” (as he is affectionately known by his patients) earned his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Khartoum. He completed his training at Khartoum University Hospitals, St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, and Wayne State University Medical Center in Michigan. Dr. A joined CSNF in 1996 and has been an important part of the practice ever since. He most recently served as President of the CSNF Board.
Dr. A is also a respected member of the Jacksonville medical community. He has served as Chairman of the Hematology/Oncology Section at Memorial Hospital and Chairman of the Clinical Professional Review Council at Memorial Medical Center. He also served as Chief of Staff at Memorial Hospital and led the hospital’s credentialing committee.
Dr. A provides comprehensive care for patients with all types of cancer and blood disorders, with particular clinical interests in lung, gastrointestinal, and genitourinary cancers.
Dr. A enjoys working with his colleagues, staff, and patients at CSNF. He says, “The will to fight and faith of my patients is what inspires me.”
Outside of the office, Dr. A enjoys traveling and learning about different cultures with his children.
