Dr. Yousif Abubakr is board certified in medical oncology and practices at the Cancer Specialists of North Florida Southside location.  He joined CSNF in 1996, after one year at the Wayne State University bone marrow transplant facility.  Dr. Abubakr’s areas of interest include areas of malignancy.  He has previously served as a Chairman of the Hematology/Oncology Section at Memorial Hospital and as Chairman of the Clinical Professional Review Council at Memorial Medical Center, both in Jacksonville.

Dr. Abubakr has received honors and awards for Outstanding Achievement in Cancer Research from the Upjohn Company Fellowship, Best Final Year Student in Obstetrics and Gynecology, Best Performance of Five Years Study from the University of Khartoum, Best Candidate in the Final Examination and Best Student in Pathology and Microbiology from the University of Khartoum.

“I enjoy the collegiality, comradery, staff, and most of all, our patients,” says Dr. Abubakr. He has over 18 years of clinical research experience, including industry and network trials. Dr. Abubakr is from Khartoum, Sudan, but has lived in Jacksonville, Florida, the majority of his life. He has a wife, two sons, and one  daughter. When not working, Dr. Abubakr enjoys traveling and learning about other cultures.
