Johanna Russell is an advanced registered-nurse practitioner at our St. Augustine location. After receiving her Master of Science in Nursing at South University located in Savanah Georgia, Russell moved to Jacksonville to pursue her career as an advanced practitioner.

Throughout her time in medicine, her roles have varied from working in Med/Surg, ICU, ER, labor and delivery, neurology, and as a nursing supervisor to family nurse practitioner, and now oncology nurse practitioner.

Deeply dedicated to the field of oncology and her patients, Russell’s philosophy is providing not just medical treatment but also crucial emotional support to patients navigating cancer. “This profound impact is what carries the compassionate care patients seek to have throughout their treatment journey,” says Russell.

Having been personally touched by cancer through her now 22-year-old daughter, she drew inspiration from those who helped her and her family through a difficult time. “I recall the incredible support my daughter received from her surgeon and nurses that cared for her,” Russell says. Her goal was to replicate the reassurance she experienced daily throughout her daughter’s treatment with her own patients.

Russell takes great pride in the comprehensive care at CSNF, “where patients receive seamless care, beginning from diagnosis to treatment completion.”

When not in the office, you may find Russell watching sunsets, enjoying time in nature, or playing pickleball with her daughter.
