Katie Waters, PA-C, is an advanced practitioner at our Southside location. She earned both her Bachelor of Science in Biology and her Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Therapy from Georgia Southern University before receiving her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from South University.
When Katie was in PA school, her mother was diagnosed with gastric cancer. “I have unfortunately experienced the impact of hearing the words ‘you have cancer’ and seeing the negative effects it can have on families,” she says. “I understand firsthand what patients are going through, and I just want to provide the best care and treatment to my patients that will prolong their life and quality of life during this time.”
“I previously worked in a bone marrow transplant unit, where we were able to give a small portion of cancer patients a second chance at life,” she explains. “It’s incredible to be able to provide that type of treatment to a larger population, and CSNF, being a physician-owned practice, gives us the freedom to help patients to the best of our ability because we put their well-being ahead of everything else.”
When not in the office, Katie enjoys spending time with her husband and their two labs. They love to travel and relax outdoors, enjoying everything the Southeast has to offer. Originally from Georgia, they love to watch the Bulldogs and Braves but have adopted the Jags as their own!
