Scott Shirley, APRN, is an advanced practitioner at our Beaches location. He received his bachelor’s in microbiology and molecular biology from the University of Central Florida before becoming a Registered Nurse (RN) in 2012. He then went on to earn his Master of Science in Nursing from Walden University in Minnesota.

Born and raised in Northeast Florida, Scott and his family returned to the Beaches area after he completed his master’s degree. He’s always been interested in science and helping people, which ultimately led him to a career in nursing.

“I previously worked as an ICU nurse,” he explains, “and I’ve seen first-hand just how scared and nervous patients can be while waiting to see their doctor.” Because of this, Scott approaches every visit with a positive attitude and mindset. “I try to have a good time with them – visits don’t have to be scary – they can be fun!”

Scott was drawn to CSNF because of its deep roots in the Jacksonville and Beaches community.

“It’s great to work somewhere native to the area, just like I am,” he says. “This team really cares, and it shows; they go above and beyond for all of their patients, and it’s a blessing to be part of it.”

When not in the office, Scott enjoys spending time with his family and friends and flying stunt kites, something he’s loved doing since he was a child.
