New Technology
ExacTrac Dynamic by Brainlab is a software and hardware layer of technology that ensures patients receive the most precise radiation therapy possible. The system uses surface tracking with optical and thermal cameras, as well as advanced continuous x-ray imaging to monitor and track a patient’s position in real-time. All of this ensures the patient is precisely aligned during the entire treatment and allows us to make small adjustment as necessary.
St. Augustine’s 2nd Radiation Vault
In March, the St. Augustine Radiation Oncology department completed the installation of its second radiation machine and began treating patients with it. This machine enables the team to treat up to 50 patients per day, with additional scheduling capacity available.
CSNF debuted their partnership with Paxman Scalp Cooling at their Beaches location in May. The scalp cooling caps, worn during chemotherapy, have been shown to reduce treatment-associated hair loss. In 2025, they expect to expand the system to five additional locations.
In May, Dr. Ayed Ayed was named a collaborator in an international bispecific antibody study. According to Dr. Ayed, ‘Bispecific antibodies are a new class of cancer-fighting drugs that engage the immune system to combat cancer.’
CSNF currently offers bispecific antibody therapy at all of their locations.
