CSNF’s Patient Assistance Foundation Raises Over $210K at Spring Fundraiser

On Thursday, May 22, the Patient Assistance Foundation of Cancer Specialists of North Florida (The Foundation) raised over $210,000 at its annual spring fundraiser, Cocktails for a Cause.

Founded in 2004, The Foundation has raised more than $2.2 million through its two signature fundraising events: Cocktails for a Cause and the Jim Swanagin Memorial Golf Tournament. Combined with additional generous donations throughout the year, this support has enabled The Foundation to provide over $2.7 million in grants to more than 2,000 patients.

“We can’t emphasize enough how important this Foundation is—not only to CSNF’s patients but to patients across Northeast Florida,” says Meredith Harlow, Lead Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Foundation Secretary. “Seeing first-hand just how life-changing these grants are for patients is incredible.”

Surpassing their goal of $200,000, The Foundation plans to put the funds raised to immediate use.

“It’s all for the patients,” explains Bob Phelan, CSNF CEO and Foundation Treasurer. “Mortgage, rent, utilities, car payments and insurance, gas, groceries—if it’s a necessity, we do what we can to help, even if it’s for a short period of time.”

So far in 2025, The Foundation has awarded over $165,000 in grants to 98 patients.

“We haven’t even finished processing May’s applications yet,” adds Foundation Board President Beth Page. “That number is always rising—our work is never done!”
