Alissa Mortis, FNP-DNP is an advanced practitioner at our Beaches location. A Jacksonville native, Alissa earned both her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Doctor of Nursing from Jacksonville University.

When Alissa began college, she was set on attending pharmacy school to become a pharmacist until a significant personal event shifted her career path. “Shortly after starting college, my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer,” she says. “After seeing the incredible care the nurses and physicians provided during her surgery, chemo, and radiation, I knew that my purpose was to become a nurse and eventually advanced practitioner in the oncology world.”

Like many, Alissa was drawn to CSNF by how invested the physicians and team are in every patient who comes in one of our clinics. “Everyone is so upbeat,” she says. “It’s important to me that, in addition to excellent care, I bring joy to them during such a difficult time.”

Prior to joining the CSNF family, Alissa worked as an ICU nurse for five years. “Helping patients has always been incredibly rewarding for me, but even more so now that get to build relationships with patients over the course of their journey with CSNF.”

When not in the office, Alissa enjoys spending time outside with her husband and their three children. Their favorite hobbies include going to the beach, pool, or boating.
